Authorities seized ₱20.8 million worth of suspected smuggled cigarettes and arrested three individuals after a cargo truck allegedly fled a border checkpoint in Barangay Kibungsod, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, on July 11, 2026. During the operation, police found 520 master cases of suspected smuggled cigarettes hidden beneath bundles of abaca fiber inside the truck. The suspects and the seized contraband were taken to the Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, where appropriate charges are being prepared.
