VIDEO WATCH: Heroic rescuer found dead after saving two children from drowning at Iligan beach resort

The body of a 29-year-old man who went missing after rescuing two children from drowning at Soda Beach Resort in Barangay Santa Filomena, Iligan City, has been recovered. Marjohn Yana Manait, a resident of Barangay Digkilaan, was swept away by strong currents after successfully bringing the children to safety at around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10. His selfless act of heroism ended in tragedy when search and rescue teams later recovered his body and confirmed that he had died from drowning. Authorities are reminding the public to exercise extreme caution when swimming, especially during rough sea conditions and strong currents.
