Harry Serra, an aspiring artist from Barangay Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City, had not picked up his art materials since the pandemic. However, inspired by the recent tributes honoring the late Rene Baterbonia, he decided to return to his passion and challenge himself to see if he still had his artistic touch. At one point, Serra doubted he would be able to complete the piece, but after working on it from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. over three consecutive nights, he finally finished the tribute painting at dawn on Wednesday, June 24. The artwork, created using oil pastel on a 22-by-28-inch cartolina paper, serves as both a tribute to Baterbonia and a personal rediscovery of his love for art.
