Ateneo cager with Tagoloan, MisOr roots trends after emotional post following Aurora tragedy

Ateneo de Manila University student-athlete and former Batang Gilas standout Kyle Gamber has garnered attention on social media after sharing an emotional Instagram story expressing gratitude to God for sending an “angel” who stayed by his side. The post sparked speculation that the 6’3 Fil-Am guard was among those rescued during the drowning incident in Aurora on June 8 that claimed the lives of Ateneo players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili. Gamber, who traces his roots to Cagayan de Oro and Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, shared the message amid reports that several Ateneo student-athletes were swept by strong sea currents during a team-building activity in the province.
