The Department of Agriculture Region 10 (DA-10) and the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) recently turned over a ₱69.48-million Rice Processing System II to the First Community Cooperative (FICCO) in Barangay Agay-ayan, Gingoog City. The project under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program is expected to improve rice processing, reduce post-harvest losses, and support farmers’ livelihoods. The facility includes a multi-stage rice mill that can process 2–3 tons per hour and four rice dryers with capacities of 12 tons and 6 tons per batch.
