City Hall eyes stricter market rules on IDs, aprons, hairnets, and proper vendor attire

The City Government of Cagayan de Oro is considering a proposal requiring market vendors to wear IDs, aprons, hairnets, and proper attire to improve hygiene, food safety, and overall market order. The initiative was among the topics discussed in a recent meeting of the City Economic Enterprises & Business Development Administration (CEEBDA), aimed at strengthening cleanliness standards and boosting consumer confidence. If approved, implementation will be coordinated with vendor groups and market management.

During the discussion, it was proposed that all stall owners and their assistants be required to wear identification cards and aprons, while food vendors must also use hairnets. In addition, all stalls will be labeled with stickers to help distinguish legitimate vendors and improve market organization in all public markets in the city.
