At Camp Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City, the Philippine Army held a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony on April 29, 2026, honoring Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr. for over 38 years of service and installing Brigadier General Seigfred C. Tubalado as Acting Commander of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID).

MGen. Anayron was recognized for significant achievements, including the dismantling of eight communist terrorist group units and major reductions in insurgent manpower, earning multiple awards for his leadership. Meanwhile, BGen. Tubalado, a fellow PMA Class of 1992 member, assumed command with a commitment to sustain the division’s mission and operational gains, backed by the full confidence of Philippine Army leadership.

MGen. Anayron Jr., a member of PMA “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992, retired after 38 years and one month of dedicated military service. As Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, he led the unit to significant gains in support of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the communities of Northern Mindanao and the Caraga Region.


MGen. Anayron Jr. led operations that dismantled eight CTG units and neutralized 163 members, including 33 high-value individuals, achieving the highest reduction in insurgent manpower from 2021 to 2025. For these accomplishments, he received the Philippine Legion of Honor and multiple commendations, along with symbolic honors recognizing his distinguished military service.


Meanwhile, BGen. Tubalado, a PMA Class of 1992 member and former 403rd Brigade Commander, assumed leadership of the 4ID, bringing extensive command experience and training. He pledged to uphold the division’s mission with dedication and discipline, while Lt. Gen. Nafarrete commended MGen. Anayron’s legacy and expressed full confidence in Tubalado’s leadership moving forward.
