PROGRESS WATCH: Metro Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao

The Cagayan de Oro City Council committee on education, chaired by Councilor Moreno Y. Daba IV, will deliberate on the proposed ordinance creating the Cagayan de Oro City Accountancy School (CDOCAS) as a public institution. The school aims to provide quality accountancy education aligned with national licensure standards, producing graduates who are competent, ethical, and capable of contributing to public service and economic development. Its Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program will prepare students for the CPA Licensure Examination while promoting accountability and fiscal discipline, using an outcomes-based education approach with regular curriculum reviews to ensure compliance with evolving professional standards.
