A woman identified as “Jezza”, a resident of Opol, Misamis Oriental, was found dead in a boarding house bathroom in Zone 6, Lower Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, on April 27, 2026, while her newborn baby was rescued alive. Police said the victim likely gave birth alone in her room, where blood and a knife were found. The baby, already separated from the umbilical cord, was discovered alive. Both were taken to JR Borja General Hospital, where the mother was declared dead on arrival, while the infant continues to receive treatment. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
