Eight teachers from Northern Mindanao have been named National Qualifiers for the 2026 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos – Award for Teachers, including three from Higher Education, two from Secondary Education, and three from Elementary Education. The Metrobank Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the Department of Education, announced the qualifiers for the prestigious award, which recognizes exceptional educators for their unwavering commitment, innovative teaching practices, and significant impact on learners and communities.

They are:

HIGHER EDUCATION

  • CECILIA O BUCAYONG – Central Mindanao University, Maramag, Bukidnon
  • JEFFERSON A HORA – Mindanao State University – Iligan Institue of Technology, Iligan City
  • KATHLEEN M MORALES – Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City

SECONDARY EDUCATION

  • GRETCHEN P LAGAAC – Misamis Occidental National High School, Oroquieta City
  • EILEEN J VILLARUZ – Iligan City National High School, Iligan City

ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

  • LORNIE S ELEMENTO – Manticao, Misamis Oriental
  • SHARON S MANANSALA – Maramag Central Elementary School, Maramag, Bukidnon
  • ANGELIE R SUBIDO – Malinao Central Elementary School, Kalilangan, Bukidnon
