A scaled model of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol Building has earned a spot on the national stage as part of the National Museum’s Art Deco Exhibit, spotlighting one of Northern Mindanao’s most iconic heritage landmarks. In photos shared by Misamis Oriental Vice Governor Jigjag Pelaez during his visit to the exhibit, the miniature replica offers visitors a closer look at the structure’s defining architectural details — from its streamlined façade to its balanced proportions. Designed by architect Antonio Toledo in the stripped classical style, the Capitol’s cornerstone was laid in 1948 and the building was completed in 1950. It stands among the last Art Deco structures designed by the Bureau of Public Works, further cementing its historical and architectural significance.
