A new Special Economic Zone has been established in Misamis Oriental following the signing of Proclamation No. 1112 by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on December 16, 2025. The proclamation designates several parcels of land along the National Road in Purok 9, Barangays Cabug and Maanas, Municipality of Medina as an Agro-Industrial Economic Zone, to be known as the Alloco Development Corp. Industrial Estate. Covering 191,384 square meters, the zone includes the site currently occupied by Axelum Resources Corp. and is projected to generate ₱1.2 billion in investments and create around 1,000 jobs.
