RANDOM SHOTS: Philippine Serpent Eagle rescued on coastal area of Villanueva, MisOr

A Philippine Serpent Eagle was recently rescued in Barangay Looc, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. The raptor, found along the coast, was safely turned over by barangay officials, as reported by Municipal Public Information Officer Cyril Cambalon Jr. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will retrieve the eagle tomorrow, October 27, for evaluation and eventual release back into its natural habitat. This species is safeguarded by the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (Republic Act No. 9147).
