The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started installing a metal barrier center island along Masterson Avenue (CDO–Airport–Bukidnon Road) in Uptown Cagayan de Oro. Ongoing works were spotted near Wilcon Depot up to Cagayan de Oro Gardens, with the project set to extend toward Karrjackson near Manresa Town, covering almost 5 kilometers. The ₱70-million project also includes the installation of solar-powered streetlights along the route, while center islands will be excluded at selected areas, major intersections and subdivision entrances.
Here’s a look at the location and proposed design for the center island barrier installation.

Below are onsite photos. Ironically, the project will cause the removal of stud lights insalled along the stretch.
