The owner of the car struck by a fallen tree inside the Xavier Ateneo main campus in Cagayan de Oro during last Friday’s strong winds and heavy rain, September 26, expressed gratitude that no one was hurt in the incident. In his Facebook post, Joric Magallones acknowledged his responsibility to park safely but noted how quickly the tree gave way—not just a branch, but the entire trunk. Remarkably, despite the impact, his Toyota Avanza remained fully functional, with the engine, air conditioning, and even the music system still running—a testament to the vehicle’s durability after years of heavy use.
