Starting today, September 26, Standard Systems Water and Wastewater Technologies Inc. is officially on the job as Cagayan de Oro’s new garbage contractor. Their trucks rolled out as early as 5:00 AM to begin collections around the city. City Hall is hoping this move will finally ease the garbage woes in the city. For everyone’s convenience, the full collection schedule per barangay has also been released—so better check when your area is scheduled!
Here’s the setup: urban barangays get twice-a-week collection, with nightly pickups along main roads and highways (except Sundays). For hinterland barangays, collection will be twice a month on Sundays only.
