Vehicular traffic came to a standstill along the National Highway in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental after a landslide struck Zone 1-B below the Old Church in Barangay Aplaya Thursday night, September 11. The incident, triggered by hours of heavy rainfall and strong winds left hundreds of motorists and travelers from the province’s eastern towns stranded for nearly two hours. The slide covered both eastbound lanes of the highway, prompting local authorities and DPWH personnel to manage traffic while awaiting heavy equipment to clear the debris.
