Cagayan de Oro honors six late leaders in first Pasidungog sa Talagsaon ug Dungganong Kagay-anon Awards

Six late leaders of Cagayan de Oro were honored in the first Pasidungog sa Talagsaon ug Dungganong Kagay-anon Awards held on August 29 at the City Tourism Hall. Posthumous awards were given to Vice President Emmanuel “Maning” N. Pelaez, Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Q. Pimentel Jr., Congressman Pedro “Pedoy” Sa. Baculio, Mayor Maximo Suniel, Mayor Justiniano “Tinying” Borja, and Mayor Pablo “Ambing” Magtajas for their lasting contributions to the city’s growth and heritage.

City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, and other city officials joined the families of the awardees in the tribute, which was part of the city’s 75th Charter Diamond Jubilee. The awards will become an annual tradition, with future honorees recognized during Charter Day or in a special awards program.
