RANDOM SHOTS: Cogon Public Market Atrium circa 2010

Did you know that Cagayan de Oro’s Cogon Public Market once had an atrium? During the term of then Mayor Constantino Jaraula (2007-2010), the market featured a spacious central area with a wishing well and a fountain topped with a large pineapple centerpiece. It was also equipped with two 52-inch flat-screen monitors where people can watch NBA, boxing and other events. It also had four giant blowers and ventilators, giving the market a more modern and airy feel at the time.

The atrium has since been removed to make way for additional commercial spaces.
