PROJECT WATCH: ₱250-M Pulangui River Sedimentation Control and Irrigation Project breaks ground in Lantapan, Bukidnon

The long-awaited ₱250-million Pulangui River Sedimentation Control and Irrigation Project (Manupali River – Sabo Dam 3) is finally set to become a reality following its official groundbreaking ceremony on July 11 at Barangay Alanib, Lantapan, Bukidnon, near the boundary with Valencia City. To be implemented by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the project aims to enhance livelihood and food security, mitigate flooding in low-lying areas, boost local tourism, and potentially serve as a future source of run-of-river hydropower. The project is expected to be completed within 360 days.

Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque, provincial and municipal officials, along with representatives of NIA-Bukidnon Irrigation Management Office, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and other concerned government offices.

A ritual preceded the groundbreaking ceremony.
