Municipal officials of Opol, Misamis Oriental, along with representatives from the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), recently led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Opol Sanitary Landfill Project in Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Bagocboc. With an approved project cost of ₱99.99 million, the facility will become the province’s ninth sanitary landfill once completed. The development will include an administration building, materials recovery facility, composting bed, weighbridge, hazardous waste vault, sanitary landfill cell, wash bay, leachate treatment pond and plant, guard house, access road, and perimeter fence. Primax Konstruct, Inc. has been awarded as the project’s contractor.
