A namesake of Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres is now serving as a resident physician at La Viña General Hospital, Inc. in Valencia City, Bukidnon. The hospital recently announced her appointment on its Facebook page, welcoming her along with other new doctors. Dr. Ma. Dayanara Torres, who earned her medical license earlier this year, may not be from Puerto Rico, but she certainly has the looks to join a beauty pageant.
Torres earned her medical degree from Cebu Doctors’ University, graduating in 2023.
Dr. Torres passed the 2025 Physician Licensure Examination held from March 30-31 and April 6-7, 2025.
It’s unclear if the good doctor was named after the popular beauty queen who lived in the Philippines for five years following her coronation, but we’re inclined to believe so.
