Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao, inspired by the city’s recent achievement of winning 15 gold medals in the Palarong Pambansa, is pushing for the construction of a Sports Complex as part of his second-term agenda. Meanwhile, the master plan for the city hall complex is also set to be finalized soon, which includes building a new structure to accommodate departments without their own offices.
Among the options being considered for the sports facility is the former NSC area, although this will still have to be studied by the City Legal Office. Another option is to establish a partnership between the city government and the Philippine Football Association (PFA), which is affiliated with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association).
Below are renderings of the planned sports complex.
