Iligan City’s new solid waste processing facility, built in partnership with M.A.A. Integrated Waste Solution Corporation at the Central Material Recovery and Composting Facility (CMRCF) in Barangay Bonbonon, is almost complete. It can process up to 200 tons of waste daily and convert it into Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), offering a long-term solution to the city’s waste problem. Partial machine testing is scheduled from June to July 2025 with operations to start in August. The city has also added 10 new garbage trucks to support the operations.

It may be recalled that in August 2024, the company signed a Contract of Lease with the City Government to use a portion of the CMRCF, specifically Residual Containment Area 3. The project is being implemented at no cost to the city.
