The Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) achieved a significant leap in performance at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte, finishing 5th overall—up from 9th place last year. The delegation brought home a total of 103 medals, including 31 gold, 26 silver, and 46 bronze. Notably, NMRAA more than doubled its gold medal count from the previous year, where it earned only 14. In the Schools Division rankings, Iligan City placed 6th overall. At the elementary level, Misamis Oriental ranked 7th while Iligan placed 8th. In the secondary level, Iligan also secured the 8th spot.
