A 20-year-old robbery suspect was arrested in Cagayan de Oro City on May 26 after a retired judge used an iPhone tracking app to help police trace the stolen device’s location to Pabayo Street in the city downtown area. The 72-year-old victim from Quezon City reported the robbery to the police after he and his companions were robbed at a subdivision during a visit. Police quickly responded and recovered multiple stolen items, including two iPhones, a Samsung phone, a wallet, and cash.

Police recovered from the suspect one unit iPhone12 worth PhP30,000,000; one unit iPhone11 worth PhP20,000.00; and one unit touchscreen cellphone Samsung S711 brand worth PhP36,000.00. Also recovered from the suspect was a color white wallet containing cash money of different denominations; two pcs of US Dollar (1USD) (100USD), four pcs 10 Canadian Dollar, two pcs 5 Canadian Dollar, one pc 10 Euro, and Philippine peso amounting to Php 3,300.00.

It was later discovered the suspect also had an outstanding warrant for theft. He is now detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell as robbery charges are being prepared. Authorities praised the teamwork between the victim and police, emphasizing how technology and swift action helped solve the case.
