A motorcycle rider miraculously survived after nearly falling into a ravine along Sayre Highway in Sumilao, Bukidnon, on Friday night, May 9, 2025. “God pulled me back!” exclaimed Marc Kyell Pleños Masarate, who was on his way back to Cagayan de Oro after a live program at Hope Channel in Davao. According to Marc, his motorcycle’s headlight suddenly went out while navigating a dark stretch of the highway. When the light came back on, he was already entering a blind curve. He tried to brake, but the wet pavement caused him to lose control. The motorcycle veered off the road and plunged into a ravine. Miraculously, Marc managed to grab onto a patch of grass just inches from the cliff’s edge. A passerby called for help, and emergency responders arrived within 30 minutes. His motorcycle was retrieved around 11:00 p.m., while his topbox—containing his Bible—was recovered close to midnight.
This is the unlit portion of Sayre Highway where he fell.

Marc points to the exact spot where he grabbed onto the grass, clinging just inches from the edge of the ravine.

The light is from his motorcycle which fell some 70-80 meters down the ravine.

Emergency personnel are shown pulling his Suzuki Raider 150 Fi motorcycle.

Below is a photo of his motorcycle after it was finally recovered—it sustained significant damage and will require extensive repairs.

Meanwhile, his topbox remained intact with the Bible inside.
