The Philippine Coast Guard successfully rescued all 506 passengers of MV Lite Ferry 5 after it ran aground in shallow waters approximately 200 meters from Jagna Port in Bohol on Black Saturday, April 19, 2025. The ferry was en route to Cagayan de Oro. Upon confirmation of the incident, the Coast Guard Sub-Station in Jagna quickly responded with support from the Philippine Navy, Jagna Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bantay Dagat, and local fisherfolk. All passengers were safely brought back to port by dawn on Easter Sunday, April 20, with no reported injuries.

Initial inspections revealed no internal hull damage, but a full marine safety and environmental assessment is underway. A tugboat from Cebu is en route to extract the vessel from its current position.
