PROJECT WATCH: Thai firm to invest $18 million in coconut milk processing plant at PHIVIDEC

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has announced that a Thailand-based canning company plans to invest $18 million in a coconut milk processing plant at the Phividec Industrial Estate Special Economic Zone in Misamis Oriental. PEZA Director General Tereso Panga revealed this during the VIV Asia 2025 and the Gut Bio Balance (GBB) Probiotics Line Launch, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 12 to 14.

The prospective Thai company specializes in canned food processing, including canned fruit, coconut milk, coconut water, fruit juice, and seafood. To further strengthen ties, the Thai company hosted PEZA Ecozone Development Manager Mr. Ludwig Daza, for a factory tour at its 10-hectare processing plant in the Samutsakhon Industrial Zone, located 45 kilometers from Bangkok. The facility employs 3,000 workers and serves as a model for their planned expansion in the Philippines.

The name of the Thai firm was not disclosed but accordingly, its one of the biggest food manufacturing firms in Thailand. See list HERE.
