Cagayan de Oro City’s Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) will acquire speed guns to enforce and monitor adherence to the city’s speed limit restrictions, as outlined in the city’s Traffic Code (City Ordinance No. 10551-2007). These devices provide law enforcement with real-time, accurate measurements of vehicle speeds, helping to deter dangerous driving, reduce road crashes, and curb reckless behavior.
Equipped with advanced night vision capabilities, the speed gun can operate both during the day and at night, automatically printing the recorded data. These devices are instrumental in reducing accident rates and ensuring adherence to speed limits within the city.
City Ordinance No. 14788-2024 established speed limits and restrictions to reduce road accidents in the city. The ordinance is aimed at limiting reckless driving and monitor motorists who exceed speed limits.
