Woman FIDE Master Ruelle Canino from Cagayan de Oro City concluded her debut in the FIDE World Junior Chess Championship in Montenegro with 5 points after 11 rounds, placing 68th out of 98 players. The 16-year old Canino faced a challenging start, losing 3 of her first 4 games, but regained her footing with 3 wins and 2 draws in the following rounds. She finished the tournament with a record of 4 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws. Despite the tough competition, Canino considers the experience a valuable learning opportunity and has vowed to come back stronger in future events.
