John Renie Boy Tagocon, the towering 6’9 recruit from Corpus Christi High School in Cagayan de Oro, officially made his National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) debut for Mapua University’s Malayan High School in the NCAA Season 100 Juniors Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, February 27, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan. Playing just a little over three minutes, Tagocon grabbed one rebound in his first appearance on the court. Mapua rallied to beat defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 81-73 in overtime for its first win of the season.

Tagocon checked into the game with 3:47 remaining in the second quarter. In his brief time on the court, he grabbed a rebound, missed a putback—his only field goal attempt—and picked up two fouls before being subbed out with 26 seconds left. Browse over his photos below.
