An ambitious 240-kilometer Trans-Mindanao Superhighway connecting Tandag City, Surigao del Sur to Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental, will soon be realized with the introduction of House Bill No. 971, which seeks to fund its construction. This was disclosed by Second District Rep. Yevgeny Vincente Emano during his 3rd Congressional Report (CoRe – Tres) held last January 24, 2025 at the Tagoloan Municipal Dome. The House Committee on Public Works and Highways and the Committee on Appropriations, have already recommended the approval of the said bill without amendment based on House Committee Report No. 861.
According to HB No. 971 as sponsored by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, the proposed superhighway is set to start in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, before passing through Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, and Malaybalay City. From there, it will extend to Talakag, Bukidnon, and proceed to Dansolihon/San Simon in Cagayan de Oro City. It will then connect to the ongoing Misamis Oriental West Diversion Road (MOWDIR) before terminating in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. In the map below, the red highlight is already existing while the pale orange is yet to be constructed.
