Laguindingan Airport operations back to normal after Control Tower momentarily loses power, communication due to lightning strike

Laguindingan Airport’s Control Tower momentarily lost power and communication after a lightning strike on Friday night, January 10, 2025, which was successfully intercepted by the tower’s lightning arrester. Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area Manager Job de Jesus confirmed the incident in an interview with Magnum Radyo. The strike caused a minor delay for a Cebu-bound flight, but airport operations have since resumed without further issues.
