Soil testing is currently underway at the site of the proposed Gaisano Villanueva, located next to the old Villanueva Sports Center (Cockpit) and the Coca-Cola Misamis Oriental Plant in Barangay Katipunan. According to Cyril Cambalon Jr, Public Information Officer of LGU – Villanueva, TestLab Engineering and Geo Services has been commissioned to conduct the soil testing, a critical step in ensuring the proper design of the building.

Gaisano Villanueva is one of 3 proposed Gaisano stores as revealed in 2023. Others are in El Salvador City (groundbreaking already held) and the other at Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City.
