The Acting Municipal Election Officer of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte, was killed in an ambush by unidentified suspects in Brgy. Curva Miagao, Salvador, Lanao del Norte at around 2:00pm, on Monday, November 25. The victim, identified as 51-year old Mark Orlando Vallecer II, a resident of Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, was rushed to Bontilao Hospital in Maranding, Lala, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Media reports state that Vallecer was driving his red Hyundai Accent after attending a meeting when the assailants, riding-in-tandem carried out the attack.
Vallecer is shown during the recent 1st National Convention of Election Officers held November 19-20, 2024 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
He also attended a high school alumni homecoming over the weekend.
