Two young boxers from Cagayan de Oro – Nick Anjelo Payla, and Xian Baguhin – are now in the United States as part of the five-man Philippine boxing team that will see action in the inaugural Under-19 World Boxing Championship at the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colorado, USA which starts today (Philippine time). Both recently took home gold medals in the 2024 Taipei City Cup Boxing Tournament in Taiwan. Payla will vie in the 50-kg class while Baguhin will compete in the 51-kg class in the women’s division.
