Thousands of participants from various institutions and stakeholders across nineteen (19) locations in Mindanao joined KAWAYANIHAN, an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the “Most People Planting Bamboo Simultaneously”. The event, held last Friday, October 18 at 9:00 AM, was led by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) as part of its commitment to promoting a sustainable, climate-resilient, circular economy.

Most of the locations of planting sites are in Northern Mindanao.

The planting locations in Northern Mindanao are as follows:
- Brgy. San Isidro, Talakag
- Brgy. Sta. Fe, Libona
- Long-ol, Sta. Ines, Malitbog
- Brgy. Puntian, Sumilao
- Brgy. Dalirig, Manolo Fortich
- Brgy. Maluko, Manolo Fortich
- Brgy. Kalasungay, Malaybalay CIty
- NMACLRC, Malaybalay City
- Barangay Alae, Manolo Fortich
- Brgy. Pagatpat, CDO
- Brgy. Mandangoa, Balingasag
- Brgy. Awang, Opol
- Brgy. Sta. Ana, Tagoloan
- Brgy. Lanise, Claveria
Other areas include:
- Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte
- Brgy. Kapoc, Matanao, Davao del Sur
- Poblacion, Carmen, North Cotabato
- Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte
