Haycarb Philippines Corporation, a leading manufacturer and marketer of coconut shell-based activated carbon solutions, is set to establish its first manufacturing facility in the Philippines. The company’s executives recently signed a 25-year lease agreement for a 10-hectare site within the Phividec Industrial Estate in Misamis Oriental. Reports revealed that Haycarb has already secured a local supplier for 5,000 metric tons (MT) of coconut shells annually, with plans to expand to 8,000 MT over the next six years. The company is investing an initial P400 million for the facility, which is expected to provide significant economic benefits to local coconut farmers.
