The P100 million pre-Feasibility Study for Mindanao Railway Project Phase 3, conducted by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LPP, was completed on July 30, 2024. Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista, together with NEDA-10 Regional Director Mylah Cariño, shared this progress with Congressman Rufus B Rodriguez. The 54.8-kilometer railway will connect Laguindingan Airport, Cagayan de Oro City, and Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. The study finalized the railway’s alignment, ensuring minimal displacement of residents affected by the project.
In line with this, Cong. Rufus requested Secretary Bautista to allocate at least P100 million for the full blown feasibility study for Phase 3 of the Mindanao Railway Project.

The completion of the full-blown feasibility study shall signal the beginning of the bidding for who will finance and construct the railway project. Shown below are several alignments of the proposed railway taken from a Deloitte Touche presentation last June 2024.

Keep posted.
