The Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) has been included in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 World University Rankings. MSU-IIT ranked 1501+ for a tie in 3rd place in the Philippines. Meanwhile, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro City also made the list under the “Reporter” category, which is designated for institutions that provide data but do not meet all criteria for a ranked position. MSU-IIT and USTP are two of only 21 universities in the country to be included in this global ranking.

The latest World University Rankings methodology includes 18 carefully calibrated indicators to assess institutions across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook. However, universities must participate in the World University Rankings data collection and be ranked in this global table to be included in these derivative rankings. – SOURCE
