For more than a week now, motorists along PN Roa Sr Avenue (Macapagal Drive) in Cagayan de Oro City have expressed frustration over the slow progress and poor planning of the ongoing road rehabilitation. The project has caused heavy traffic on the road which is a vital connection of Uptown CDO to Canitoan area, initially closing one lane for hole digging while allowing alternate traffic on the other. Now, the contractor started drilling holes on both lanes, then inexplicably covered the holes on the other lane with soil. To make matters worse, only 2-4 workers have been observed onsite, further delaying the project.
Initially, traffic was smooth along PN Roa Sr Avenue while drainage works were ongoing. But when the contractor started drilling holes on the paved road, traffic started to develop. Shown below is the 2-lane road being prepared for concrete removal.
