The primary suspect in the murder of an 18-year old Grade 12 student inside a lodging house in Toledo City, Cebu last Friday, September 20, has also been linked to a separate case in Misamis Oriental in 2023. The suspect identified as 43-year old Lorben “Richard” Cabugsan Larot, was the last person seen with the victim, Mae Fatima Tagactac. Police investigation revealed that Larot was also the main suspect in the hacking death of his own father in Balacanas, Villanueva town on June 7, 2023.

According to PLtCol Salvatierra, they found the suspect’s real name after finding a copy of the suspect’s driver’s license at his Cebu residence.
