The First Misamis Oriental General Hospital (FMOGH) located in Medina, Misamis Oriental is set to undergo a major upgrade and expansion with the construction of a new 6-storey building. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been signed between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), through the Misamis Oriental First District Engineering Office and FMOGH, formalizing the plans for the hospital’s expansion and modernization. This development aims to improve healthcare services and facilities providing better medical care for the residents in the eastern part of the province and nearby areas.

It can be recalled that the hospital facility was created through the enactment of Republic Act 11565 authored by Rep. Christian Unabia, which converted the Medina Extension Hospital into what is now known as the First Misamis Oriental General Hospital (FMOGH).
