Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya is pushing for the opening of the river boulevard to vehicles. Councilor Nacaya made his special report last Monday’s regular session after last week’s incidental heavy traffic in Macasandig area following the closure of Biasong Tinib Road due to road construction. Affected motorists claimed there was no advisory on the road closure which left them stranded on the smaller roads for several hours. Meanwhile, RTA Head Engr. Nonito Oclarit stated in a radio interview that while a traffic plan for the boulevard is ready, the project has yet to be officially handed over to the city government by the DPWH.
The Macasandig Section of the river boulevard starts from Balulang-Macasandig Bridge and ends at Paseo del Rio beside Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School campus.
Unaware motorists were stranded for several hours along Biasong Tinib Road.
The road barricade was put up near Bell Church.
