Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez has written to Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, requesting the designation of Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) in the 10th Judicial Region as Special Expropriation Courts for national railway projects, including the Mindanao Railway Project Phase 3. Rep. Rodriguez believes this move will expedite the realization of the Mindanao Railway Project, benefiting all Mindanaonons. Currently, RTCs in the National Capital Judicial Region and the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Eleventh Judicial Regions handle these expropriation cases.
Cong. Rufus stated that the feasibility study of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the Mindanao Railway System – Phase 3, worth P100 million is now nearing completion.
The proposed Mindanao Railway System – Phase 3 begins in Misamis Oriental to Cagayan de Oro City and to Laguindingan Airport.
