PMMA Cagayan de Oro Campus pioneering senior high school maritime students complete 2-week immersion in Zambales

The pioneering “Matatag Class” of senior high school maritime students of Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) Cagayan de Oro Campus have completed a 15-day immersion at the PMMA Complex in San Narciso, Zambales. All 43 students undertook a comprehensive experience which included participating in calisthenics, adhering to mess conduct protocols, and engaging in various activities that are part of a cadet’s daily regimen.

Cong. Rufus Rodriguez gave the students cash assistance of P5,000 each, and each faculty member P10,000, under his budget allocation in DSWD-10. In total, P285,000 was given to the PMMA CdeO SHS students and faculty.

Cong. Rufus is the author of Republic Act No. 11782 which established the PMMA Campus in Cagayan de Oro. He is likewise the driving force behind implementation of the PMMA Senior High School Program in the city based at the old Xavier University – Macasandig Campus. Shown below is City Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez distributing the educational assistance from Rep. Rufus to the students prior to their immersion.
