Troops belonging to the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army have rescued 35 stray dogs from the demolished sites inside Camp Evangelista Military Reservation in Cagayan de Oro City. In coordination with the Cagayan de Oro City Veterinary Office and Loving Home for Strays, a non-governmental organization, the army men successfully located and rescued distressed and abandoned dogs in the area.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of 4ID, emphasized the importance of compassion and the duty soldiers have in protecting not only people but also the welfare of local abandoned pet animals.

This initiative was part of the ongoing clearing operations by the 4th Installation Management Battalion, following the demolition of informal settler (IS) houses from June 18 to 24, 2024.
