Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao recently led the unveiling of the newly-renamed Mariano Lluch Badelles Sr. Bridge (formerly Tambacan Bridge) as a tribute to the first elected city mayor of Iligan and former representative of Lanao del Norte who was responsible in the establishment of the two-lane bridge crossing Iligan River in Barangay Tambacan ushering the city’s progress.
The renaming of the said bridge was made official by virtue of Republic Act No. 11989. Badelles served as city mayor of Iligan from 1956-1959 and became a 3-termed representative of the 1st District of Lanao del Norte from 1987 to 1998.
