Misamis Oriental showcased its Kuyamis Festival on the international stage with at least eighty performers in traditional attire dancing and parading down Madison Avenue in New York City during the 126th Philippine Independence Day Celebration on June 2, 2024. This marks the first time the Kuyamis Festival has been featured at this annual Philippine event.
